VALLEY WIDE MISSION CONFERENCE 2012

Sunday February 26, 2012  Morning Worship at 10:30 am

Guest Missionary

Earl and Cathy Hartwig  have been missionaries with HCJB Global for over 22 years.  During their time in Ecuador, Earl directed the construction of the Parcacocha dam and the Loreto hydro project.  Later, he was the director of the HCJB Global’s hydroelectric department.  The electricity generated was needed to power the large shortwave transmitters that allowed HCJB Global to broadcast the gospel around the world.

The Hartwig’s last term in Ecuador was one of transition.  By government decree, HCJB Global was directed to close their transmitting site due to the introduction of an international airport in the area.  With the closing of this site, HCJB Global also sold the hydro electric department.  Recognized for his leadership skills, Earl was asked to direct a new ministry to train nationals as missionaries.  In the last two years, we have seen seven dedicated Christians go cross culturally as bi-vocational missionaries.  Six more are preparing to go in the near future.  It has been great to see God working in this ministry.

The words from Joshua 1:9 resound in Earl and Cathy’s hearts when they think about their coming term.  “… Be strong and courageous!  Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”  Their time in Ecuador is coming to a close.  God has opened the door for them to go to Papua New Guinea to help construct a hydro electric project for a 120-bed hospital run by the Church of the Nazarene.  The ability to provide better health care will greatly open the doors to share about Christ to the surrounding community.

United Methodist Women Mission Meeting February 29, 2012 @ 10am

Guest Missionary

Noel Garrett, serves as Missionary to the Czech Republic with TEAM.  Noel began her journey with Jesus at the age of 5, blessed to grow up in a Christian home and church and surrounded by strong godly mentors.  During my University years, God clearly told me that I was to give up my plans and radically follow him wherever he would lead.  In Revnice, I work with our church plant to build discipleship, grow leaders and increase community outreach.  I also teach English in the local school and offer English/Bible classes through the church to build relationships with non-believers. My newest venture is serving with a team that is starting a long-term development project in Ethiopia.  My greatest passion is to reach out to those in poverty (physical, relational, spiritual) to being new life, hope and love.
