THE UMW had their monthly meeting on Wednesday, February lst.  Our guests, the High School Storytellers, were very interesting.  It is always great to hear the kinds of stories they come up with.

The pot abundance they shared with us was great also, as always.  We want to thank the UMW for providing so much wonderful food and cookies to take back to school with them and, of course, we want to thank the Storytellers.  We look forward to them each year.

LENTEN STUDY.  You are all invited to be an active participant in a Lenten Study entitled 24 Hours that Changed the World, by Adam Hamilton.

The Gospel writers devoted most of their work to just 1,100 or so days of Jesus’ life, the last 3 years of His life; and their primary interest was in one particular day – the day He was crucified.  They believed this 24-hour period changed the world, and each of the Gospels drives toward it.

The aim of this study is to help us better understand the events that occurred during the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life, see more clearly the theological significance of Christ’s suffering and death, and reflect upon the meaning of these events for our life.

The study will begin on Ash Wednesday,  February 22nd , and will conclude on Thursday, April 5th, Maundy Thursday.  The study will be offered on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Lemoore UMC and Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. at the Armona UMC.   Please contact Pastor Thom at  924-5295, e-mail pastorthom@sbcglobal.net or cell phone,

970-3408 to sign up for this class.  Please sign up early so we can order your book for the study.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT.  (Please see the attached flyer.)  This will take place on Sunday, February 12, at 4:00 p.m., in the Fireside Room.  We will be showing a family/child movie and everyone is invited.  Bring your favorite sandwich or sandwich-makings to share after the movie.  We’re also providing popcorn.  So mark your calendar and plan on attending our first Family Movie Night, and bring a family with you.  It will be lots of fun.
