Pastor Thom arrived in Lemoore July 3, 2003
with a mission. He wants to be God’s servant helping Lemoore become a better
place to live by establishing a stronger sense of the presence of Jesus Christ
in community lives.
A native of Kennebec, South Dakota, Pastor
Thom is no stranger to the Lemoore area, having retired from the Navy, with 21
years of service, at NAS Lemoore in 1990 as a Lt. Cmdr. Aviation Maintenance
Duty Officer. As proud as he is of his military service, he feels that his
service through Jesus to congregations and communities as a pastor is even
greater. Ordained an Elder in Full Connection on June 15, 2002, Pastor Thom
is in his eightteenth year of serving Christ as a pastor of a local
congregation in the United Methodist Denomination.
Pastor Thom’s partner in ministry is his
wife, Deborah. We share life, ministry and everything together. We are the
proud parents of 4 adult children, who are all married, but most excitingly,
we are the Grandparents of 9 tremendous Grandchildren.
Pastor Thom is a strong proponent of
Christian compassion. “We must reach out to everyone.” Christ tells us to love
one another and that’s what I want to help not only this congregation, but
also everyone, to do. “We must help people where they need it, we must meet
their emotional, spiritual and physical needs, through Jesus Christ.”
Pastor Thom along with his wife Debbie and
mother Hazel invite everyone to come enjoy the fellowship and the love of
Jesus at the First United Methodist Church of Lemoore. Come hear a sermon that
moves, which makes you, want to act.
You can contact Pastor Thom by dropping by
the office at 500 East Bush Street in Lemoore. Office hours are Monday through
Thursday from 8 a.m. to Noon or any other time by appointment. You can reach
him by phone at (559) 924-5295 or e-mail.
